“Flow” is a concept named by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi for the “flow state” or being “in the zone.” It’s a beautiful state achieved by being fully immersed in an activity. Some people call it “getting lost” in the work. I think it happens not only with work that we love, or an activity that creates a zen state where our mind can rest (like with running), but also when being still and fully appreciating the beauty of the setting and the moment. I’m in Nova Scotia and this is an iPhone image from a walk in Blue Rocks. The contrasting yellow gold against the blue silver black rocks and the way everything is rippling along with the water, reminded me of just how important flow is. We get so worked up in our daily lives and can forget that we need a release valve in whatever way works for us. Go with the flow was the message on this day so that we can better control our emotions and give our busy minds a break. Have a beautiful flowy kind of day!
